As a parent of a neurodivergent child, you would be all too familiar with the challenges that go hand-in-hand with raising your child to be happy and healthy in today’s society. At Head Academy Leichhardt, we’ve had great success with children that struggle with social interaction, avoid large groups of people, have trouble focusing or feel extremely anxious to the point of inaction. Our supportive instructor team have been able to create a safe and empowering class environment that supports these children to open up and be themselves, all the while learning all the self-defence skills and self-confidence that comes with training martial arts.

In order to broaden our reach, we’ve developed a special program that is designed to step a new student from a one-to-one basis if necessary to a small group class. We provide a fun and dynamic class environment that provides plenty of opportunities for social interaction and community engagement.

  1. Students will be assessed one-on-one with an instructor prior to program commencement
  2. The program can begin with private 1:1 sessions before building into the group lesson (organised at a separate time)
  3. Classes are due to begin in term 3 on Saturdays from 1:45pm-2:30pm with arrival and departure 15min transition times (i.e. arrive 1:30pm, depart 2:45pm)
  4. A hybrid approach is recommended with one private lesson during the week and one group lesson on Saturdays

If this sounds of interest to you, please get in touch with us and we can provide more details about the program to help determine if your child is suitable. Please submit an application, including an NDIS treatment plan which will help form the basis of our approach for your child in our classes.
