The Head Academy Approach to Kung Fu for Adults
There are several facets to the Head Academy Kung Fu for adults.
The most obvious is perhaps adults Kung Fu lessons. Across our five locations, we have classes aimed at adults who want to combine improved movement, effective stress coping mechanisms, correct breathing techniques and flexibility with kick-ass self-defence.

Alongside our martial arts classes for adults to learn Kung Fu, Sifu Nathan Head has developed what he describes as ‘The Internal Way’. This is based on the teachings of Taoist Master Mantrak Chia combined with modern research into the connection of the energetic and physical systems of the human body. Through The Internal Way, you can go on a journey of emotional and physical self-mastery through a step-by-step system that will help you escape negative emotions to build a life of health and vitality through seated meditation and Qigong. All of this is based on Taoist philosophy, working to align oneself with the natural order of Nature and The Universe.
If adults Kung Fu is not for you, then we offer other ways of creating movement in your life – and this can be found through our other classes.
- 5 Element Flow is a yoga-style class developed by Sifu Nathan Head, based on traditional Chinese medicine and Taoist Theory.
- Kung Fu Cardio is based on realistic self-defence skills combined with movement.
- Timeless Mobility: this is a great class to prevent injuries and niggles, and rehab existing problems.
- Broken Boomers: the older generation needs some more gentle movement, so for our adults born between 1946 and 1964 (the Boomers), we have developed a range of classes suitable for their unique needs.
